A glass disc at the heart of a lamp: Hans Przyrembel took this simple idea as the starting point for his 1928 design. A broad, flat disc of frosted glass defines the HP 28. Chromed metal elements complete its clear construction, making the way it is assembled apparent at first glance.
Przyrembel studied at the Bauhaus from 1924 to 1928. His work combined practical craftsmanship with the search for new ways to design everyday objects. The HP 28 gives this approach tangible form: glass and metal each fulfil a function while shaping the lamp’s appearance. The polished chrome and matt glass surface create an appealing contrast.
Designed for rooms with high ceilings, the HP 28 finds its place today above a seating area, in spacious hallways in period homes or in reception areas. Its broad glass disc emphasises the horizontal, drawing attention to the height of the room. This Bauhaus design sits comfortably alongside historic architectural details as well as modern, pared-back interiors.
The HP 28 is available in diameters of 500 or 700 mm.
Each lamp is consecutively numbered and bears the TECNOLUMEN signet.
